We offer a number of classes at The Broom Closet with a focus on education and supporting positive change within the individual. Current classes are listed at the top of the page with older classes below. I have left these older classes listed to show what we have had at the store in the past and to give an idea of what we may have again.
Introduction to Wicca & Witchcraft
Belly Dance for beginners
Led by Raye, this class covers the basic beginning introduction to the foundation movements of all dance. This is a fun, playful class where you can explore the realms of belly and life dance.
Raye has been teaching and practicing life and belly dance for a number of years. She is a wonderful teacher, making her students feel comfortable and confident in their efforts.
Not only will you learn a beautiful dance technique, but you will be engaging in a wonderful fat burning workout at the same time.
Classes begin Monday March 31st at 6pm

Whether you know anything about the subject or not you are invited to join us as we explore some of the realms of modern day witchcraft. On this ten week journey, each week will focus on a different aspect of what is considered the fastest growing religion in the west. We will explore myths and legends of various gods/goddesses, the elementals and their role in the great scheme of things, we will learn to make our own incense and touch on the vibrationary qualities of essential oils and herbs. We will spend some time working with various divinationary devices and learning to meditate and focus our minds.
We will explore the purpose of ritual and work on incorporating ritual into our own lives, both in group form and in our personal lives. We will examine the importance of sacred space and create some of our own. The cumulation of all of the classes will end with a group ritual that will be created and performed by the members of the class.
Class length = 10 weeks on Saturday Mornings from 10:00am until 11:30am
Class fee = $150 ($15 per week or $125.00 if paid in full in advance)
This class will be taught by Raye who has studied this style of dance for a number of years. Life Dance, similar to tribal style Belly Dance, incorporates movement that allows the body to move gracefully and lithely.
During this eleven week session you will learn the basic skills and moves of Life Dance. This is a wonderfully liberating dance style that will add elegance and grace to your everyday movement as well as providing an awesome workout..

Creating Positive Change
(Magickal Treasure Maps for Success)
This class is divided into two sections. The first week we will set about discovering more about you and what your standards of integrity are, and analyze goals that you have set yourself to see if they really fit with who you are.
In week two, we focus on one chosen goal and create a magickal treasure map, focusing your energy out into the universe to manifest this goal into your life. All materials will be provided, all you need to bring is a desire to create something wonderful in your life.

Incense Making
Class fee = $25
Reiki is an energy healing system that was introduced to the West by Dr. Usui. Dr. Usui spent many years studying to discover how we could heal the sick. This class will cover the story of the discovery of Reiki and how it has evolved over the years since its discovery. The class also includes the first degree attunement which enables the student to practice Reiki for themselves.
Each student will be given a hands on demonstration of what Reiki is, instruction on the use of Reiki, a student workbook, and a certificate of the first degree attunement.
Wear something comfortable.

The Pendulum
A fascinating tool that has been used for thousands of years. This class will cover some history of the pendulum and its uses. Each member of the class will hand craft their own pendulum as well as learn basic techniques for its application.
Subjects covered in the class will include using the pendulum as a dowsing tool to find water, minerals, or even illness. You will find out how to use the pendulum to give advice channeled from your higher consciousness, and of course we will have some fun.
A one evening workshop.
Class fee = $20 (this includes materials to create your own pendulum)
Led by Ted Williams of the Little Rock Drum Circle, this class will allow you to get in touch with the tribal soul that resides within.
Drumming is a wonderful tool that has been used for centuries as a doorway into altered states of consciousness. This class will not be focusing on that aspect of the drum though. This class will teach basis rhythms and techniques that can be mastered with relative ease.
Ted has also produced a CD which contains the drum rhythms to be covered in the class which will be provided to all participants. And don’t worry if you don’t have a drum of your own. For a nominal fee Ted will be happy to let you bang on one of his beautiful instruments.
