If you would like to read some of the other books that we have featured in our book club, check out the listings below...

Our first book club offering.   In a world torn asunder by invaders, the wealthy island nation (Crete) is peaceable and sophisticated, but how can it defend against aggressive would-be conquerors without succumbing to what is most dreaded, the glorification of warrior culture?  And now, the great volcano on Santorini (Heria) rumbles too...

I think that as a group we liked and disliked this book.  I felt that it didn't have a good ending at all, but just left an opening for a sequel.  An OK read, not marvelous.

Alternating between fiction and non-fiction, our second choice...

Delve into the mysteries few technicians of the hidden realms have ever spoken about. It reveals the practical application of the goddess mysteries. Uncovers the secrets of the angelic realms, Lemuria, Atlantis and the inner earth; revealing in detail their alphabets, numerical systems, the Atlantean calendar and the alphabet of the Akashic libraries. This book creates a usable bridge across the chasm that has isolated humanity for eons from the unseen worlds.

I think I can safely say that we didn't care much for this one.

Jori is born to be Hearth Queen.  Kelan is destined to be Hunt Queen.  But Jori loves to hunt, while Kelan loves ritual.  Change is daunting when even the smallest failure can lead to starvation for a tribe of nomadic women, yet times are indeed changing...

This was better and I felt that the majority of this group enjoyed this one to some extent.  There were some aspects of the story that left is a bit difficult to fathom, but overall an easy read.

"As you learn The Secret, you will come to know how you can have, be, or do anything you want.  You will come to know who you really are.  You will come to know the true magnificence that awaits you in life." - from the Introduction

The majority of the members of our book club liked this book enormously.  It is a very empowering work and allows you to feel a renewed sense of purpose and power.  Although not the only law of the universe, the law of attraction is certainly one of them.

When high-powered Manhattan lawyer Phyllis Curott began exploring Witchcraft, she discovered a spiritual movement that defied all stereotypes.  Encountering neither satanic rites not eccentric spinsters, she came to know a clandestine religion of the Goddess that had been forced into hiding over the course of history.  Book of Shadows chronicles Curott's remarkable initiation into Wicca (meaning "wise one")., her ascent to the position of Wiccan High Priestess, and her efforts to reconcile her newfound spirituality with her struggles as a woman rising through the ranks of the corporate world...

We all loved this one.  We were all inspired to grow on our own spiritual journey.

I first read this book a number of years ago and it has always struck me as one of the best texts that explain the fundamental laws of the universe.  I was not the only one that enjoyed this book and I think that all who attended the book club meeting felt that this book can be paradoxical and confusing, but at the same time, it carries a deep understanding of how our world works and the laws that govern it.

Although this book did not elicit rave reviews, it certainly generated a great deal of deep thought and meditation.
